About RAP Student Loan Calculator

Our Mission

rapstudentloan.com exists to help the 42.7 million federal student loan borrowers understand how the Repayment Assistance Plan (RAP) affects their monthly payments and make informed decisions about their repayment strategy.

RAP, created by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (P.L. 119-21), takes effect on July 1, 2026, and replaces the SAVE plan as the primary income-driven repayment option. Navigating the new repayment landscape can be confusing — we built this site to give every borrower access to clear, accurate, and free tools to plan ahead.

Our Editorial Process

Accuracy is our top priority. Every calculator and guide on this site is grounded in primary sources:

We review and update our content whenever new regulations, servicer guidance, or legislative changes are published. If you spot an error, please let us know — we take corrections seriously.

What We Offer

  • RAP vs Refinancing — Compare federal RAP benefits against private refinancing options.
  • Eligibility Checker — Find out if your loans qualify for RAP and whether consolidation is needed.
  • Educational Guides — In-depth articles on RAP forgiveness, PSLF, interest subsidies, filing status strategies, and more.

How Our Calculators Work

All calculations run entirely in your browser — we never collect or store your financial information. Our formulas are based on the publicly available text of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act and official federal student loan repayment guidelines.

Calculator results are estimates only. Your actual payment may vary based on your loan servicer's implementation, tax filing details, and other factors. Always confirm with your loan servicer before making repayment decisions.
